Our Philosophy (Mission Statement)
True Foundation Hockey is a skill development hockey program that provides detailed instruction in combination with comprehensive skill training to build foundational skills and a more dynamic and complete hockey player. Our responsibilty is to push each athlete outside their comfort zone allowing the athletes to reach their full potential and develop character and leadership skills that are not only crucial but purposeful and transformational on and off the ice.
A big misconception in athletics is that sports build character. While sports are a vehicle upon which character can be built, sports must be taught by coaches that possess character and who incorporate it into their coaching style. It is our mission to be those coaches to all our athletes. Our program goals are to provide training that is purposeful, relevant, and transformational for our athletes. We believe that if we combine these goals with a scientific and physiological approach to skill development, we create a foundation upon which our athletes can truly succeed in the sport and become the very best player's they can be. By taking this approach to development we know we are able to identify the specific needs of our athletes and then provide them with the necessary instruction and progressive development that brings forth permanent and internal transformation.
CNS Overspeed Training
What is Overspeed and Central Nervous System Overload Training?
Overspeed and CNS Overload training is a physiological concept. In its simplest terms, it is training as fast as possible with reckless abandonment.
It’s being willing to lose the puck, fall or experience other mishaps while training as fast as possible. It is training at top speed forcing the brain to train the muscles to move the hands as fast as the feet, not slowing the feet to accommodate the slower speed of the hands.
Over time, these mistakes are significantly reduced as the synergy between the brain and working muscles improves to the point that the muscles immediately respond to the commands from the brain through the Central Nervous System. By utilizing Overspeed and CNS Overload training the brain commands/communicates to the working muscles through the CNS what it wants the muscles to do at higher rates of speed. The energy systems are also enhanced by high speed/high intensity interval training. These concepts have proved to have a dramatic impact on improving athletic performance.

Compound Movement Training (CMT) Curriculum
What is Compound Movement Training?
“If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.”
If I could describe the CMT curriculum in one sentence, I would say this: “It will push you past
what you think you are capable of doing.” Compound Movement Training is a scientific concept
that combines several skating movements, performed sequentially in one exercise, at top
speed. Utilizing this approach overloads the central nervous system which ultimately forces the
working muscles to process commands received from the brain at faster speeds. Athletic
development requires physiological changes to occur through creating a highly efficient neuro-
muscular response system. Our CMT curriculum demands the athletes to perform beyond the
current physical abilities, by placing them in the necessary and uncomfortable positions
required for permanent improvement. CMT will Ultimately increase the athlete’s ability to
perform these skills at higher speeds in game situations while under pressure.

About Us
Where the science of the human body meets strong character and leadership
We are a Minnesota based hockey development program. We offer the most personalized, comprehensive and complete training in the state of Minnesota. We work with all ages from those just beginning to play competitively to professionals working to make improvements in the off-season. We are fully dedicated to helping every athlete not only achieve their athletic goals but to surpass their potential and excel in their craft. We, as coaches guarantee the same level of passion and commitment as we ask of all our athletes and that is something you will not find anywhere else. True Foundation is not only driven by passion but also purpose. Passion left to its own devices can often lead one astray but when one's passion is directed toward their purpose, then one can conquer any mountain, overcome any obstacle and achieve any goal. While coaching the game of hockey is our career, we see it more as our passion that we have and a purpose that we have been given. It is our privilege to come to the rink every day and teach the greatest game ever created. We believe wholeheartedly in establishing relationships and partnerships which are necessary to get our athletes to where they want to go in sports and in life.

Scott Bond
Scott has been involved in hockey at many levels and has established himself as one of the
games top performance coaches. Scott has developed a reputation as an expert in many areas
of the game through an analytical and progressive approach to skill development. By carefully
profiling player’s skill sets and building customized training programs, these players are better
able to transfer their skills to game habits and create a competitive advantage. More than 140 of
his clients have obtained NCAA scholarships and 29 have been NHL draft picks.
Prior to becoming a coach, Scott played high school hockey for Frank B. Kellogg in Roseville
Minnesota, two seasons of Junior A. Unfortunately, during the peak of his playing career he
suffered a severe spinal injury. Two years after the injury, by the grace of God, through an
incredible difficult road of recovery, Scott was able to return and play four full years of varsity
hockey at Hamline University. At the conclusion of his playing career, he began his coaching
career as a conditioning and player development coach. Scott has coached under the likes of
Jack Blatherwick, Lou Vario, and Ken Yackel.
Scott’s innovative and practical approach to fundamental skill development is relevant to today's
game. His process for transferable skill development allows his players to be highly effective at
each advancing level of play. Scott also develops strong bonds and relationships with his
athletes and families and always has his client’s best interests as his top priority. By building a
strong rapport with his athletes, he is able to guide them through the various levels of hockey
and help them reach their full and maximum potential in the game and in life.

Jackson Bond
Co- Owner and Director of Hockey Operations
Jackson has been involved in the game of hockey as a player, coach, and scout for over 18 years now. Jackson chose to forgo his MN High school hockey career after 1 season to play for Omaha AAA under David Wilke. After finishing midget hockey Jackson had a three year Junior A playing career in Canada. Following in his father's footsteps Jackson is currently playing Division III college hockey for Hamline University.
Jackson has an advantage many coaches today do not have. He has cutting-edge knowledge of the skills necessary to excel in today's modern, fast-paced, and highly skilled game. As a younger coach, Jackson has a unique ability to relate, connect with, and mentor our athletes. This allows him the special ability to transfer the necessary skills to be successful onto the next generation.
As an active college hockey player, one of the coaching advantages Jackson has is that he is able to expertly perform and demonstrate each skill sequence at top speed for our athletes, who are then able to witness how each skill should be performed and how it can be applied to game situations. He also offers an understanding of what it takes to play hockey at a high level that many coaches today do not.
As passionate as Jackson is about hockey, he considers it second to his faith, Jackson is an ordained chaplain and uses those skills to help communicate with and mentor young athletes. Jackson's dedication to the Lord drives him to be the very best coach, person, and mentor he can be. He believes it is his privilege to take his knowledge, experience, and talent and pass it on to the next wave of up and coming athletes. It is his mission to not only develop them to be gifted players but to have strong character and integrity. Jackson's Passion is to see his athletes reach their maximum athletic potential while helping them to grow mentally, physically, and spiritually to be more than hockey players, but outstanding young Men and Women.
